Intrepid Property Maintenance places great importance on the training and certification of its personnel, with special emphasis on training related to safety; benefiting our employees, our customers, and the public.
Workplace Safety Certificate of Recognition (COR)
The Certificate of Recognition program is administered by the Alberta Construction Safety Association, with certification being issued by the Alberta Government Department of Jobs, Skills, Training and Labour.
Intrepid Property Maintenance has completed and been certified in the following COR courses:
- Principles of Health & Safety Management
- Auditor Training
- Leadership for Safety Excellence
- Train-the-trainer for WHMIS
The Workplace Safety Certificate of Recognition is a highly esteemed safety training designation throughout Alberta and beyond. Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) Certification
SPRAT is an International Trade Association that advances the safe use of industrial rope access through education, standards development, and training of rope access techniques. SPRAT administers examinations, and issues certification to successful trainees as Industrial Rope Access Technicians.
Intrepid Property Maintenance’s Industrial Rope Access Supervisor is trained and certified by SPRAT.

Alberta Temporary Traffic Control (ATTC) Certification
This is a course designed by Alberta traffic control technicians in partnership with the American Traffic Safety Services Association, delivered by traffic control experts selected by industry representatives in conjunction with the Alberta Construction Safety Association.
Intrepid Property Maintenance has taken ATTC training, successfully passed the examination and has been certified for some years now. That means, if your project should require hoarding permits, our Company is certified to directly arrange for such and to implement traffic plans on our own accord. This ensures that your project proceeds without delay, and that the safety of your employees and patrons, pedestrians, commuters, and our employees, is responsibly addressed.
Additionally, certification was also acquired through the Alberta Construction Safety Association authorizing the performance of Flagperson duties.

Swing-Stage – SAIT Certification
This course was offered by the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) Polytechnic and was designed for the swing-stage industry, ie: window washers. It taught swing-stage rigging and its safe operation in conjunction with OHS Codes. Course code: GLSS-103.

Manlift operators have been trained by a certified Trainer.
Company Orientation by COR Certified Safety Officer
New employees are given a thorough Company Orientation before commencing work duties.
In-House-Training by Experienced Technicians
Employees receive class room instruction, including tutorial videos, as well as on-the-job training from experienced technicians. And where applicable, specialized training and certification is sought, as noted above.
Safety Meetings overseen by COR Certified Safety Officer
Scheduled employees attend monthly Safety Meetings and weekly “tailgate” Safety Meetings, all of which follow a specific Agenda.
Workplace Hazard Assessments
All job sites have a hazard assessment conducted prior to commencing work, and a Workplace Hazard Assessment Form accompanies each work order.
Crew Leader Program
For each work order, crews are assigned an experienced crew member to take the lead in ensuring that all safety standards and Company Policies are adhered to, and to keep in regular communication with the Field Manager and/or Head Office.
COR Safety Standards
All maintenance operations are performed to the excelling standards of our Company’s Workplace Safety COR Certification.
Security Clearance/Background Check
For customers who require a security clearance, our employees pass background checks.
Workers’ Compensation Board Coverage
Our Company carries WCB insurance to the benefit of our customers and employees alike.

Liability Insurance Coverage
Our Company carries $5,000,000 of coverage, thereby ensuring that in the unlikely event that an occurrence should require it, sufficient coverage is in place. A Certificate of Insurance can be made available upon the awarding of your Contract.
IICRC Certified Technicans
The IICRC is a nonprofit certification and Standards Developing Organization (SDO) for the inspection, cleaning and restoration industries. Hiring a certified-technician ensures trusted and trained cleaning, restoration and inspection professionals. Our certification includes:
- Water, Flooding and Sewer back up restoration
- Trauma scene cleanup and decontamination, including Unattended Death, Homicide, Suicide, Gross Filth clean up and Hoarders.
